The African American Alliance invites you to attend a community forum about the flu pandemic: "What African Americans Should Know About H1N1: Are You Ready?"
The community forum will be presented twice so anyone interested can attend either tonight, Wednesday Oct 14, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Emmanuel Temple Church, 1032 N. Sumner Street; or tomorrow Thursday Oct. 15, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Humboldt School, 4915 N. Gantenbein Ave.
Health officials are urging everyone to take steps to stop the spread of the flu, which is highly contagious. Even though most cases are mild and people recover quickly, the flu can be dangerous for people in high-risk groups. Pregnant women are particularly at risk, as are people with asthma, or low immunity because of other illnesses.
