Mysti Krewe of Nimbus presents The Portland Mardi Gras Parade on Tuesday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m. starting at Humbolt and Albina and ending at Mississippi Ave. and Cook St. The Grand Marshal is Paul Knauls, affectionately known as The Mayor of NE Portland.
The Portland Mardi Gras Parade on Mississippi Ave is on track to be fantastic in 2020. Joyous music will keep the beat with six bands, including Brass Roots Movement, Bridge City Second Line, The Beat Goes On and the now infamous Beaumont “Bobcats” Middle School Marching Band plus many new marching groups and performers. New marching groups will be joining this year thanks to a Multnomah County Cultural Coalition grant. Mysti Krewe of Nimbus hand decorates mini-umbrella "throws" to hand out to parade viewers, along with Mardi Gras beads.
Schedule:
The Mysti Krewe of Nimbus is a Portland social club of 100+ Louisiana culture lovers who understand “what it means to miss New Orleans” as Louis Armstrong sang. Starting from a simple desire to create an authentic Mardi Gras experience, the Krewe has grown to become a public presence in Portland. The Krewe manages the Louisiana Pavilion at the Waterfront Blues Festival, marches in the Starlight Parade, leads floaters to the river in The Big Float, and hosts the annual Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday parade on Mississippi Avenue.
