The Skanner Wins NNPA Award for Best Layout and Design

The Skanner is proud to announce that our graphic designer Patricia Irvin took home the 1st place National Newspaper Publisher's Association (NNPA) Merit Award for "Best Design and Layout."

The win was based on two 2016 issues, from July 6 and July 13. 

The NNPA is a trade association of the more than 200 African American-owned community newspapers from around the United States. The Merit awards were presented  June 22 at the annual convention held at the Gaylord Hotel and Resort at National Harbor, Oxen Hill, Maryland.
