WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, July 6 and Friday, July 7, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will travel to Washington state to highlight major infrastructure projects as part of an example of how the Biden administration is investing in America and working to build the next generation of American infrastructure, while creating good paying jobs.
On Thursday at 1:30 p.m. local time, after touring a ferry modernization project earlier in the day, Buttigieg will visit Port Orchard to highlight Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investments that will help create jobs, grow the economy, and help people get where they need to go. He will give remarks at a press conference with Governor Inslee, Sens. Murray and Cantwell, and Rep. Derek Kilmer.
On Friday morning at 10 a.m., Buttigieg will travel to Washougal to highlight infrastructure investments that will help improve safety, speed up emergency response times and strengthen supply chains. He will give remarks at a press conference with Sen. Maria Cantwell, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez, and local leaders.
