The Spitfire, located at 2219 Fourth Ave. in Belltown, is a non-traditional, sleek, sports bar with 17 large plasma-screen TVs for those sports junkies. But, at the same time, the restaurant offers a trendy, chic, modern feel with decorative, colorful art and leather bar stools.
Spitfire is a great place for tequila lovers and has 21 different house-recipe margaritas to choose from – take our advice and try the mango.
Spitfire also serves lunch and dinner and a weekend brunch. Spitfire's executive chef James Earl, formerly of BluWater Bistro, has kept the menu Latin-inspired with flavorful, robust and spicy food. During the first Thursday of every month, the restaurant offers specific top shelf sipping tequila vintages with a three-course menu for $20. You may choose one item from each course.
First course offers your choice of mouthwatering quesadillas with roasted poblano chilis and paired with Aha Toro Reposado, which is tequila aged in wood tanks or barrels for at least two months; smoked jalapeno ceviche and Tres Generaciones Plata, which is clear, un-aged tequila with a fresh, fruity flavor; or you can choose the spicy meatballs in a spicy chipotle sauce paired with Tres Generaciones Anejo tequila, which has been aged in barrels for twelve months or more.
The second course offers a choice of chicken skewers with Don Julio Blanco tequila or the roasted pork carnitas with fresh pico de gallo and Herradura Anejo tequila.
The third course offers peppered bacon-wrapped jalapeno prawns and Don Julio Reposado or tender lamb skewers with sweet, spicy sauce and Corralejo Reposado tequila.
Happy hour is offered daily from 3 to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight where draft beers and the small-plate menu are half price. Hours are Monday through Friday 11 to 2 a.m.; and Saturday and Sunday 9 to 2 a.m. Free Wi-fi also is available for customers.
