Multnomah County Sheriff Daniel Staton is wrapping up its effort to encourage more media questions on the search for Kyron Horman.
In a statement issued late this morning, the sheriffs office invited reporters to email in questions about the Kyron case by 2 p.m. today.
The Skanner News readers can share questions you'd like us to forward to the sheriffs office today by posting them at the end of this article.
"A written statement will be released no later than Friday July 23, 2010 based on the questions submitted," the department said.
The boy has been missing since June 4, when his stepmother said he disappeared from his elementary school in Southwest Portland.
The stepmother, Terri Horman, remains a person of interest in the case, but has not been charged with any crime. Her estranged husband Kaine forced Terri to move out of the family home last week, and she has relocated to her parents hometown, Roseburg, Or.
Meanwhile the sheriffs department and the District Attorney's office this week asked Multnomah County officials for almost $450,000 to cover police overtime and the hiring of an investigative technician in hopes of still locating the missing 7-year-old.
"Our detectives and searchers are continuing to follow-up on many leads to include establishing and verifying information relating to Kyron's activities prior to his disappearance," the statement said.
A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday July 27, with Chief Deputy Tim Moore and Lead Investigator of the Kyron case Sgt. Lee Gosson.
