Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign says it's now raised $540 million for the presidential race against Donald Trump. Democrats have had no problems getting supporters to open their wallets. Her campaign said it saw a surge of donations during last week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago where Harris and running mate Tim Walz accepted their nominations.

Business owners who cater to Florida’s LGBTQ+ tourists said Wednesday that it was the latest attempt by officials in the state to erase the LGBTQ+ community. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis previously championed legislation to forbid classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades, and supported a ban on gender-affirming care for minors.

Harris paid tribute to her roots as the daughter of a brown woman and Caribbean man and honored the multicultural village of “aunties” and “uncles” in California’s Bay Area.
