As there are always two sides to every story, there are also two sides to every individual; the perception and the reality. Unfortunately, the latter is usually seldom seen. The harsh reality is Deondrae Clark was a victim of a senseless crime. He was simply attempting to attend a football game at Jefferson High School, Friday October 21, 2011 to support his younger cousin that is the top defensive end in the state. In which he was denied at the entrance and was forced to watch the game from the outside of the fence. As the game ended, he left and was shot while waiting for his ride. He died 3 days later leaving behind his beautiful 4-year-old daughter.

Deondrae adored being a father and would do anything to ensure her happiness. He spent an abundance of his time with his daughter, enjoying every stage of her life from infant to toddler to adolescent. All acquired skills such as walking, talking, potty training and reading were primarily taught by Deondrae.

When absent from his daughter, Deondrae could always be found with family and friends. Those closest to him knew and referred to him by DeDe.  He enjoyed life and had a special gift of making others laugh, making those around him look at tragic situations in a serious but comical light. Anyone around him found it hard to remain negative for too long. Unknown to most, Deondrae met weekly, every Friday, with a group of men of authority including attorneys, judges and Christian men who mentored him and offered whatever advice/wisdom they could.

The rest of his time was spent either playing football or attending school. DeDe played football with the Semi-Professional Football League known as Portland Inner City Shine in 2011 where he was named Rookie of the year. There, he played Defensive End and Line Backer. As a result of this tragic event he is unable to be present to receive his trophy. In addition, Deondrae was currently enrolled at PCC Rock Creek, obtaining an Associates Degree in Auto body Collision and Repair. Safe to say, Deondrae will truly be missed by many.

Unfortunately, due to economic hardship, his life insurance policy which was carried most of his life lapsed during this unexpected tragedy.  Please help us in giving him a wonderful home going celebration by donating money to THE DEONDRAE CLARK MEMORIAL FUND ACCOUNT NUMBER 485007599582 @ BANK OF AMERICA. The family thanks you in advance for all assistance, kind words/acknowledgements and prayers.
