The reported physical attack in broad daylight last weekend on NE 42nd and Fremont Streets against a local resident who grew up in the Beaumont Wilshire neighborhood has prompted area leaders to hold a "speak out."
Bao Vuong, 22, has filed a police report detailing racist harassment by four White youths sitting on a bench in front of shops across the street from Beaumont Middle School.
Vuong says the youths threw bagels at his car, pounded the vehicle and tried to punch him as his car idled at the intersection. The police have not found the suspects so far.
The Community Speak Out is scheduled Friday, Aug. 7 from 5:15 – 6 p.m. at the Beaumont Middle School parking lot, 4043 NE Fremont.
