"I truly appreciate all of your support and love. I do feel celebrated, and I’m receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, thanks to you,” Gibbs said via video.

Now Gibbs is back, this time with the launch of a new memoir about her incredible life, AP News reports. “It’s Never Too Late,” will chronicle Gibbs' story from Chicago’s South Side to the peaks of Hollywood. Inking a deal with HarperCollins Publishers, the memoir will be published under the company’s Amistad imprint, dedicated specifically to amplifying Black stories. Gibbs said she hopes her story can serve as an inspiration for the next generation.

“My hope is that my memoir will serve as an inspiration to those that continue to show me love and support. I believe no matter the challenges one faces, it is never too late to turn your life around or make a difference,” said Gibbs.

Her roles on television and in film have imprinted on our hearts and Gibbs has waited a long time to finally share her story with the world. The memoir traces the peaks and valleys of her life and Gibbs said she wants to make sure she spotlights the transformative power of overcoming.

“I am grateful and I am ready to reveal the challenges I overcame as a way of service to those who wish to transform their tests into testimonies,” she explained.

“It’s Never Too Late” is set to hit shelves everywhere in fall 2024. Thank you for everything Ms. Gibbs.
