He then went on to recount how he made his transition into playing football back in high school and how he was first introduced to the Omega Psi Phi organization by the impactful male coaches in his life.

A lot of the coaches I was around, they were always very positive. They were always father figures. And it seemed like they were all Ques,” he said. “And they used to be like, ‘Hey, man. When you get to college, you gotta pledge Que.”“And I saw them doing a lot of things in the community. And I was like, man, that’s what I want to do when I get older. I want to be a part of Omega Psi Phi.” Spice opened up about his transition out of football following his retirement, why he loves bringing joy to others lives, and how he’s using what he learned as a member of Omega Psi Phi to help encourage those around him.He also stressed just how vital the organization has been in shaping his understanding of brotherhood and inspiring him to always strive for greatness.

“Omega Psi Phi Fraternity principles — manhood, scholarship, uplift — I learned it from my mom. The fraternity enhanced what was already inside of me,” he said. “There was no other fraternity for me.”Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on November 17, 1911, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. The organization was the vision of three undergraduate students — Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper, and Frank Coleman. And the three founders were joined by their advisor Everett Just as they embarked on their journey to launch the organization. With its profound dedication to brotherhood, academic excellence, and service, Omega Psi Phi stood as a beacon of empowerment and support for Black men during a time of immense social and racial challenges. The organization’s name was crafted from the initials of the Greek phrase meaning, “friendship is essential to the soul.” That phrase became the motto of Omega Psi Phi and remains a key pillar as the organization continues to promote the ideals of friendship, scholarship, and leadership.Check out Because of Them We Can’s “Divine Journeys” presented by Hyundai below:
