FILM: "I'M NOT RACIST...AM I?
On Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, WSU Vancouver will host director Catherine Wigginton Greene for a screening of her documentary film “I’m Not Racist... Am I?” as part of Black History Month. The screening will be at 5 p.m. in the Firstenburg Student Commons.
The film documents a year-long series of conversations among a group of teenagers in New York City, who talk about race, privilege and strategies for confronting structural, systemic racism. A workshop led by Wigginton Greene will follow, and food will be available. This event is free and open to all.
Wigginton Greene is director, writer and producer with Point Made Films. She also co-produced the film “In 500 Words or Less,” about the anxiety-filled college application process, and wrote and produced “Adopted: We Can Do Better,” an educational DVD series for adoptive families. Her appearance on campus is made possible by a grant from the WSU Vancouver Diversity Council and support from ASWSUV, and student group Black People United.
