Portland, OR – Ron Herndon, CEO of Albina Head Start, and Tony Hopson, CEO of Self-Enhancement, Inc., will convene Black men to address the rise of violence affecting Portland's Black community.
"The recent acts of violence affecting our community have got to end!" said Herndon. "Violence doesn't care if it is at the hands of a gang member or a white supremacist -- the results are the same: they both kill and threaten our community."
“The recent horrific attack in Gresham was a sobering reminder of the evil of hate and gang violence. We stand together to denounce violence towards our community," said Hopson.
Black men throughout Oregon are encouraged to join.
