Bonamici to Host Webinar on Student Loan Forgiveness Plan

PORTLAND, OR – On Thursday, Oct. 6 Congress member Suzanne Bonamici, chair of the Education and Labor Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Human Services, will host a webinar on the Biden-Harris Administration’s transformational student debt relief plan.

Bonamici will be joined by student debt relief advocate and expert Mike Pierce of the Student Borrower Protection Center. Registration is open to the public at https://bonamici.house.gov/rsvp .

Bonamici and Pierce will provide an update on the plan and answer questions submitted by participants. In Oregon, an estimated 499,000 borrowers are eligible for at least $10,000 in one-time student debt forgiveness, and two-thirds of those borrowers are eligible to receive up to $20,000 because they were Pell Grant recipients.
