The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) has launched a new funding initiative to support innovative artistic projects in the city of Portland. The Portland Arts Project Grants program invites applications from Portland-based artists and organizations seeking to advance their work through programming, presentations, events or artistic development that engages and benefits the public. Grants between $1,000 and $5,000 will be awarded to support arts programs and activities that show community impact.
The Portland Arts Project Grant is a new $1.2M grant program offered this year, with a structure based on past RACC grant programs. Eligibility is open to applicants based within the Portland service area, and some revised application questions support the focus of the new Office of Arts & Culture.
Funding is awarded through competitive processes that include dozens of community members serving on peer review panels and evaluating each request. In addition to the Portland Arts Project Grant, two other grant opportunities for Portland artists are detailed on the city’s website at https://www.portland.gov/arts-program/news/2024/8/14/office-arts-culture-fy2024-25-small-grants-program-opens-expanded.
