TriMet will operate on a modified schedule for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Jan. 16, to match ridership demand. MAX and most bus lines will run on Saturday schedules with extra service for morning and afternoon commutes. TriMet carries more riders on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday than any other holiday, so the agency is providing more service than a typical holiday/Sunday schedule. Based on last year's figures, rider ship is anticipated to be 75 percent of a normal weekday. Highlights of the schedule changes include: • MAX will run its Saturday schedule. • 34 heavily traveled bus lines will run on weekday schedules. • 39 bus routes will run on Saturday schedule with the majority adding commute-time trips. • All weekday express lines will be canceled, including the five lines serving Marquam Hill. • Other canceled lines are: 41-Tacoma, 81-Kane Road/ 257th Avenue and 84-Kelso/Boring. For specific information on routes and schedules, visit www.trimet.org or call 503-238-RIDE weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
