Sign up now if you'd like to learn how to make professional quality videos and edit  them with Final Cut X.   The classes run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 20 and May 4.

April 20: Learn how to operate a professional digital camera, along with sound and lighting. And get a special introduction to oral history interviewing, so you can enter NPMTC's ongoing competition for history videos with a grand prize of $1,000.

May 4: Ater your'e trained in videocamera and you've finished filming, this 8-hour workshop will show you how to edit your production using Final Cut Pro X.

Attending both sessions qualified you for our free equipment loan program, where you can check out cameras and laptops to film and edit your own videos.

Friday Labs, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Come in to the center and get help from our experts who can help you work on your projects.

The North Portland Multimedia Training Center trains individuals to use digital video production and editing equipment as a means of communication and community development. Students learn to record oral interviews using professional equipment and state of the art techniques: basic story structure; conducting an interview in the field; learning the fundamentals of lighting, audio, and editing.
