Nfl Officially Upholds Controversial Call in Monday Night Football Game

The NFL has officially upheld the controversial call in last night's Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers held at CenturyLink Field. Hawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw up a hail mary pass in the final moments of the game resulting in a 24-yard touchdown pass to receiver Golden Tate. "We both had possession of the ball but the tie goes to the receiver," Tate said. Receiver Sidney Rice echoed the same statement after the game.  As the clock was running out, Tate leaped up, shoving Packers' Sam Shields out of the way and fought for possession of the ball with Green Bay's M.D. Jennings. "I was just trying to hold onto the ball, the guy who was fighting me for it was strong but I couldn't hear anything, I just tried to keep possession of it." It was Tate's second touchdown of the night; the first resulting in a 41-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. "That was a very well executed play, that's how we need to play with our running game and our receivers ability to get downfield, we did a great job of blocking and Golden ran a nice route," Wilson said.

"I told the guys on the sideline don't give up," Wilson said. "The offensive line did a tremendous job of blocking, giving me plenty of time to scramble around back there, I scanned left, scanned right and found Tate."  When asked if he saw the catch and if he thought it was a clean touchdown Wilson replied "of course." "Offensively we could of done a better job in the second half like we did it the first but the ultimate goal is a win and Pete Carroll has done a good job preparing us for these type of situations all throughout training camp."

The Hawks defense swarmed all over Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers with eight tackles in the game, all in the first half and defensive end Chris Clemmons tied an NFL record with four sacks. "I didn't know that until someone just told me," Clemmons said after the game. "I was just trying to keep pressure on him."

The 12^th Man's 68, 218 screaming fans definitely has an effect as 67percent of Hawks wins over the last five seasons are at home; no other team in the league has a higher percentage of its win's at home over that span. The Seahawks won their second straight game and are now 2-1 and will head out to face the St. Louis Rams Sunday. "We're gonna go get ready for Sunday, we work hard and we'll do whatever it takes to win," Wilson said ending the press conference with a "Go Hawks!"
