Election Day Information in Multnomah County: Ballots due by 8 p.m., or mailed and postmarked by Nov. 7, 2023, to be counted

Today, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, is the last day to vote in the Special Election. This election includes just three ballot measures: one for the City of Maywood Park, one for the Riverdale Fire District and one for the Scappoose School District. About 3,000 voters who live in these districts received a ballot for this election. Ballots were mailed to voters on Oct. 18.

Voted ballots must be received at any county elections office in Oregon or open Multnomah County Official Ballot Drop Site location tonight by 8 p.m., or mailed and postmarked by Nov. 7, to be counted. 

Voters who need a ballot or want assistance should call Multnomah County Elections at 503-988-VOTE (8683). For in-person assistance, voters can also visit the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building in Southeast Portland (1040 S.E. Morrison St., Portland).

Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service

Multnomah County Elections offers an Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service that allows voters to request a replacement ballot before visiting a voter service location to pick it up. Voters can visit http://multco.us/orderahead to request a replacement ballot to pick up today at the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building (1040 SE Morrison St., Portland). For orders submitted during business hours, a ballot will be available within two hours. 

Multnomah County Elections open until 8 p.m. for voter services on Election Day

The Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building in Southeast Portland will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 7, 2023, to assist voters. Elections staff can help voters replace a lost or damaged ballot, or update their voter registration information. 

Staff can also provide assistance to voters with a disability. Voters who speak a language other than English can receive assistance in their preferred language. Multnomah County Elections provides an interpreter at no cost to anyone who needs help voting in a language other than English. Additional voting and elections information in 18 different languages is online at http://multco.us/education-and-outreach

Elections staff are also available to answer questions or offer other elections-related help by phone at 503-988-VOTE (8683). 

Sign up for Track Your Ballot 

Voters can always sign up for our multco.us/trackyourballot. Track Your Ballot service that is available in multiple languages! Voters can choose to receive ballot-tracking alerts and updates in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese or Chinese. Get a virtual “I Voted” sticker after you return your ballot. Multnomah County voters can sign up by visiting multnomah.ballottrax.net.

Use any 24-hour Official Ballot Drop Site to safely and securely deposit ballots. Find your nearest Official Ballot Drop Site at: multco.us/dropsites. Due to the small size of the districts involved in the November 7, 2023 Special Election, not every Multnomah County Official Ballot Drop Site is open. 

The next election in Multnomah County is the May 21, 2024 Primary Election

The next election in Multnomah County is the May 21, 2024 Primary Election. Now is a good time to check your voter registration. Make sure to update your voter registration anytime you move, change your name or want to change your party affiliation. You can check your voter registration information at oregonvotes.gov/myvote.

Candidate positions scheduled to be on the ballot include: 

  • Multnomah County - Commissioner for Districts 1, 3, & 4
  • Metro - Councilor for Districts 3, 5 & 6

State/Federal and judicial candidates file with the Oregon Secretary of State's office.
