The state of Oregon is currently recruiting interested members of the public for the Oregon Statewide HIV Prevention Planning Group. The group is charged with developing a comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan for Oregon, prioritizing populations in need of HIV prevention services and developing a menu of options for specific types of services and interventions. They are looking to recruit up to 10 new members. To get an application, please email [email protected].
The planning group represents all Oregonians and they strongly encourage applicants from the following communities:
• People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A);
• Faith- based organizations;
• African American/Black;
• Asian American/Pacific Islander;
• American Indian/Alaskan Native;
• Hispanic/Latino;
• Individuals between the ages of 18-30;
• Community based organizations (CBOs);
• Residents from Central, Coastal, Eastern, and Southern Oregon;
The group has four one-day meetings scheduled during 2009, in addition to subcommittee meetings. The first scheduled group meeting will occur on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009.  
For issues of confidentiality, they strongly urge potential candidates to submit their applications through the traditional mail systems.
