Blazers Host Phone Donation Drive

Verizon Wireless is teaming up with the Portland Trail Blazers for the sixth consecutive year to help curb domestic violence.
Fans attending the Trail Blazers game against the New Jersey Nets Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m., are being encouraged to donate used wireless phones and accessories to benefit victims of domestic violence through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program.  
HopeLine drop boxes will be located at all Rose Garden entrances starting at 6 p.m. Every fan who brings a used wireless phone will receive a 20 percent off coupon for the Trail Blazers Fan Shop.
Through the HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and wireless phones with airtime to non-profit human services and law enforcement agencies to aid survivors of domestic violence in the Portland metro area and across the country.
Wireless phones and equipment can be donated to the HopeLine program year-round at any Verizon Wireless Communications Store across the country.
