The North Portland Nurse Practitioner Community Health Clinic has moved three blocks from its former location, to its new spot at 27 N.E. Killingsworth St. The clinic's new home, which opened this week, has almost twice as much space to serve young patients.

The new location has four exam rooms, a conference room, a large waiting area and space for clothes and food closets.
"The clinic could see as many as 500 additional patients a year, and we will be able to broaden its services," said Tracy Gratto, director of the Coalition of Community Health Clinics.

The clinic's move to a bigger space is "great news,"shesaid. "Responding to the ever-growing need in the North Portland community, this clinic will now be able to provide more essential health services to low-income and vulnerable children."

The clinic provides low-income, uninsured children access to affordable high-quality pediatric care, using a holistic approach focusing on wellness. Many of the clinic's families come in with complex health problems because they have not been able to see a doctor for years. The clinic also helps families apply for the Oregon Health Plan, provide basic food and clothing items and provide referrals to social service agencies.

An open house is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29. For more information, call Linda Shan, clinic coordinator, 503-284-5239 or e-mail [email protected].
