VANCOUVER—Summer is almost here, and that means it's time again for C-TRAN's Summer Blast Pass — a special seasonal fare for youth between the 13 and 18 years old.

The pass costs $36 and allows kids to experience independence, freedom and fun for the entire summer by offering unlimited rides on all C-TRAN routes (except Portland Premium Express routes to downtown Portland), TriMet buses, MAX and the Portland streetcar. It also offers discounts at participating local merchants.

This year's merchant partners are offering the following discounts when presented with the Summer Blast Pass: Buy one, get one free lunch special from Smokey's Hot Oven Pizza; a 10 percent discount on clothing and parts from Bad Boyz Bikes; one free swim pass from The Firstenburg Community Center; a free medium drink with sandwich purchase from Bruchi's Cheese Steaks and Subs; 10 percent off any purchase from Play It Again Sports; and a chance to win free transportation to and from the Clark County Fair onboard the "Summer's Best Party Bus" for passes bought before June 20. The winner and nine friends also will receive free entrance tickets to the fair, ride wristbands and lunch for all.

The Summer Blast Pass is on sale now and is valid through Aug. 31. Starting June 20, the pass will be sold for $24, and for $12 beginning July 20.

For more information on the Summer Blast Pass, call C-TRAN's Passenger Service Office, 360-695-0123 or visit www.summerblastpass.com.
